October digital experience insights blog

Welcome to the October digital experience insights blog post. These monthly blogs provide general tips and advice on how to run the insight surveys, latest best practice and guidance, as well as the latest news in and around the area of staff and student digital experience insights.

  1. Getting started forms now out – what to do if you haven’t received yours yet

A heads-up that for those who have signed up already, the ‘getting started’ forms have now been sent out. Please get in touch if you have not yet received your copy via help@jisc.ac.uk (putting ‘insights surveys’ in the title). For those who have received their online forms, please complete these as soon as possible so that we can get you up and running with your surveys.

  1. Service launch for the 2019-20 insights surveys

Thank you to all of you who are already subscribed to run the 2019-20 insights surveys – it’s great to see increasing numbers of universities and colleges every year.

We have now launched the 2019-20 student, teaching staff and new this year, professional service staff surveys.

Subscribing institutional contacts will have been sent a short ‘getting started’ survey which they need to complete, selecting which surveys they are planning to run and the number of students and staff they have at their institution and are planning to survey.

If you would like to subscribe so you can run the 2019-20 insights surveys, please complete this short form here (opens in new window).

  1. Webinar: Digital experience insights surveys launch – what is new this year – 16th October (1-2pm)

To help understand what is new this year, we are running a 2019-20 digital experience insights service webinar on Wednesday 16th October between 1-2pm. This will include information on the changes to the questionnaires from last year, the improved mappings between the different surveys, as well as updates to the guidance.

Note this webinar is open to both those existing subscribers to the service as well as those potentially interested in signing up (but haven’t done so as yet).

You can access the webinar on the day, via this Zoom link https://jisc.zoom.us/j/490697084

We look forward to seeing you there!

  1. Digital experience insights community of practice at Staffordshire University – 6th November – sorry now full, but we will share the recordings

The digital experience insights community of practice at Staffordshire University is now full. However, we will be periscoping the main sessions and presentations and these will be available here shortly after the event. The next community of practice will be on the 21st May at the University of Northampton. Registration will be open soon, so please register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

  1. Coming soon – the new teaching staff report

We have just sent off the final copy of the teaching staff report to our production team, so we are almost there! The report will be launched on the 5th November at an event jointly hosted by the Independent Commission on the College of the Future and Jisc. We will also be presenting on the findings at our community of practice event hosted by Staffordshire University on the 6th November. All reports are available on our website here (opens in new window).

  1. Updating guidance pages

We are in the process of updating the online guidance pages. Once these have been updated we will send out an email via the JISCMAIL list.

  1. New pilot survey of researchers

We are preparing for the pilot survey of researchers – and anyone who is interested in participating in the pilot or would like to join our advisory panel, please get in touch with Ruth Drysdale (ruth.drysdale@jisc.ac.uk).
